If you want a comprehensive guide to overall training that includes specific techniques for handling housebreaking, leash training, behavior problems, and security training, you might want to check out this reasonably priced e-book package: Sit, Stay, Fetch   

You may also want to read an excellent book that will help you understand your relationship with your dog and how it affects your dog's behavior. It's "Understanding Dog Mind" by Dr. Bonnie Bergin, who founded Canine Companions for Independence. She also has an easy to follow videotape called Bonnie Bergin's Training Camp. If you have a dog with a long-term behavior issue that you'd like to resolve, check out Cesar Millan's DVD, People Training for Dogs. Mr. Millan is an expert in dog psychology and runs The Dog Psychology Center in Los Angeles where he has successfully rehabilitated numerous "vicious" dogs into a well-behaved pack. He also stars in the TV show, The Dog Whisperer. His book, Cesar's Way, is also available in hardback or CD format.
